Do a chunk at a time to get into the Navy…
No to long ago I heard an interview of a person who was willing to risk his life to become a navy seal. He said that the Navy training is more mentally difficult than physically. He also mentioned that many people quit and the reason why many people quit is because they focus on the big picture instead of just taking chunks of the whole training.
For example, there is a part where they need to run a mile lap or more and not stop running until they are told to stop. So they can run for only one mile to as many as they could. He ran 160 miles. But he only thought about a mile a time while many others were waiting for the signal and it felt long.
Focus only on a few repetitions to finish your set…
I have interviewed many of our members who have seen great results. If you have not seen their before and after and you want to know how they got their results, go to our youtube channel and watch their interview.
They also mentioned a similar thought partner than the navy seal. When they have many weight lifting repetitions to do, they only think about 3, 4, 5 at a time instead of the complete set of 24 repetitions.
Change a couple things at a time on your eating habits to get results…
In addition to that, I also see better results in our members when they focus on changing a couple of things in their diet instead of making drastic changes. For instance, if you don’t eat breakfast, eat junk food, drink sodas, alcohol, smoke, don't exercise, go to bed late, eat out a lot, can’t say no to any invitation and so on, then just focus on eating breakfast, stop drinking soda, and start walking the first month.
This will be more manageable and you will be able to focus on a couple things than wanting to change everything and fail because it is overwhelming.
I achieve my goals and have a balance in my life because I focus on one task at a time…
I do apply this concept in my life, exercise, habits, writing, projects and my everyday tasks. If I focus on everything I have to do, I get overwhelmed, but if I only focus on one task at a time, then I can focus all my energy on the task and get it done and then continue with the next one. If I need to take a break in between, I will do it.
Many times my to-do list is big and I feel overwhelmed when it is about getting things done. BUt I do one thing at a time. First, I get my priorities done, such as my meditation, exercise, reading and time with my daughter. Then I pick one thing from the to-do list that I need to do that day such as writing, recording or creating any content. I go for a walk after and then I assess a couple of members. At night I spend time with my wife. However, if the to-do list is not done, I do what is left the next day.
Focus on one thing at a time to adhere to your weight loss program…
There is a pattern that people who don’t quit uses to overcome difficult tasks in their lives. When it comes to weight loss, many people focus on all the things that need to do to lose weight and it seems overwhelmingly long with many tasks to do.
However, if you only focus on one day at a time, one habit at a time, one exercise at a time, one pound at a time, one repetition at a time, and just live your life that way, results will happen and you will not quit. Because if you think about the 3 years you are investing, the 182 workouts you are doing, the 182 times you are running, the thousands of repetitions you are doing and all the bad habits you need to change, the chances of you quitting is higher.
